When a woman chooses to have breast augmentation it is often for very personal reasons. Dr. Daiza has performed seemingly countless breast augmentation procedures using both silicone and saline implants.
Many of Dr. Daiza’s patients choose to have breast augmentation as a way to replace diminished volume, often resulting from weight loss or breast feeding.

Your Options for Breast Implants: Today, women have many choices, including different styles, shapes, and materials. Dr. Daiza’s patients also have the choice of silicone or saline implants.
Surgical technique may vary from patient to patient. The following are some options for breast

augmentation patients:
• Inframammary Technique (implants placed under the breast) - This is a widely used technique, whereby the implants are inserted into the crease where the breast and the chest wall meet.

• Transaxillary. This technique requires an under the arm incision which can reduce visible scarring. The breast implant is inserted via the armpit and usually placed under the chest wall muscles.

• Periareolar: An incision is made around the outside of the nipple and the implant is placed appropriately.

Silicone Breast Implants

Many women prefer silicone implants as they are thought to look and feel more natural when compared to saline filled implants. As these types of implants are prefilled prior to surgery, they may require a larger incision to be made (when compared to incisions required using saline filled implants) as they cannot be folded and inserted through a smaller opening. Silicone breast implants are FDA-approved.

Saline Breast Implants

The outer casing of saline implants are actually made with silicone. They are however filled with sterile saline during the actual surgery. Often the incision required for saline implants is smaller.

Plastic surgery can help you look as good on the outside, as you feel on the inside. It is also important to have realistic expectations for what breast augmentation can do for you, thus Dr. Daiza takes the time necessary to explain to her patients what they can expect after their procedure.
